Publishing this mostly so we have something to look back on as most of this has been said in pieces in other posts. I started the day doing layout with a lazer to make the actual cross cutting go faster and that did that work (til I ran out of blades again). We did manage finished off cutting the floor into strips and got a ways into doing the cross cuts (panelizing the floor). I took some time out to chat with both Isabella Brenda of the Kitsap Sun and Tyler Shuey of the Central Kitsap Reporter about the Skatetown initiative. Amazingly by EOD the Kitsap Sun had a video published and managed to not get too much plumber crack video (woot).
Saturday will still be a very full day for load out as we expect to have north of 360 panels to take out at aprox 150lb each and we will likely need to be knocking off firing strips as we load. Because we will likely be more constrained then expected on hauling capacity and we have not gotten to stripping firing strips, we need your help more then ever. Please sign up to volunteer! Tomorrow I am bringing in a crew of helpers to knock out the last bits of the cut portion of the project while I chase some transport issues for Saturday (We HAD 6 big trucks reserved… If you really want the details you can see the interactions on the Trello task board).
If you have a contact with a local company that has box trucks or wants to talk about an overnight CDL truck storage please reach out to me directly shawn@skatetown.org, my gut feeling on this right now is we are going to be forced to pay our way out of this problem and seek compensation after the fact from the original vendor for there screw up.
