We will need help in many different ways throughout our journey so when an opportunity arises we will be reaching out to our volunteers. Skatetown has recently acquired the gymnasium floor at the old Central Kitsap High School. We need your help loading it onto the truck(s) and unloading it into where it will be stored. So far we are looking for volunteers 14 years old or older for the following time slots:
Slot 1: July 27 from 8:30am-5:00pm
Location: Central Kitsap High School 3700 NW Anderson Hill RD, Silverdale, WA 98383
Slot 2: July 28 from 10am- until finished
Location: Kitsap County Courthouse (for parking) 614 Division St Port Orchard, WA 98366 (across from the county permit office)
To sign up for a volunteer slot simply reply to us at volunteer@skatetown.org with the following information:
-Your slot number(s) you can attend
-Your availability (ex: July 27th 8:30am-12:00pm)
-Your shirt style preference and size (ex: Mens Small)
We will have volunteer shirts printed for identification. Please dress appropriately for physical labor. Basic gloves will be provided but it’s best to bring your own if you have them. We sincerely appreciate you donating your time to keep Kitsap skating.
Sasa and I will come help. He is a 2xl in men’s and I need a 2x in womens.
[…] A few hours and a saw blade later we now fully understand what exists below the CK floor and as we had hoped it is a floating floor. There is still a full day+ of cutting we are leaving to the professionals because of dust exposure etc but it has started. We still need signups to help load the floor out over the weekend of the 27th/28th (this weekend) so if you haven’t signed up yet to get your free limited addition T-Shirt please do so by sending your name, day/times available and shirt size to volunteer@skatetown.org . All the details can be found in the volunteer post here: https://skatetown.org/index.php/2019/07/20/volunteer-sign-up/ […]
I am available to help on Saturday and have a full size truck and straps if needed.
Hi David,
We are having some fun with the truck rental company so may want to take you up on this. The concern is both weight and rain on saturday. The panels will weigh about 150lb each and cant get wet. The current weather forecast has showers on Saturday and we plan to store this overnight in trucks because of the time table given to us by CK Schools for the weekend loadout.
